Neighbors: Suburban Warfare is a chaotic online multiplayer party brawler where suburban rivals go to war with everyday household items turned weapons.
Position: Gameplay Programmer
Developer: Invisible Walls
Engine: Unreal Engine
Language: C++
General: I was a gameplay programmer on Neighbors leading up to its release on all major platforms. The game is a team-based multiplayer brawler where players fortify their homes, deploy traps, and storm rival lawns in loud PvE and PvP matches.
Tutorial: I designed the tutorial for the game and programmed the system that underpins it. The tutorial system was built using a combination of C++, Blueprints, and the Gameplay Ability System, guiding new players through the game's chaotic mechanics in a clear and approachable way.
Game feel: I also worked on juicy interactions that sell the game's comedic tone, such as items popping out of loot crates with satisfying feedback and motion.
